AAAaugh, blogger, you suck.
Becky had too much free time at 2:02 AM

Hey, remember a million years ago when I was going to post all of Daevan's backstory? I put up the first two chapters last month sometime. Well, I just finally put up the conclusion (and even remembered to update the official writing page!), so here you go:
Part Three: Mythan
Part Four: Kara
...Comments are, as always, deeply appreciated.

Cue rambling digressions about Temira's past and future!

I think that part of what's still giving me trouble is that I know how the two definite stories end (Arant's and Kara's... Though Kara's less so) but don't know what happens to the characters after everything. I used to have whole stories about Mythan and Breena's kids as well, but those died many years ago. I think at some point Arant got married to a character who no longer exists, and they had twins; the twins kind of merged into one person, who is now likely going to star in Season Three of the Saga, completely unrelated to Arant, instead. (I'm pretty sure they were Arant's, originally. The characters all had kids, most of whom no longer exist, and I forget who belonged to who. I know which ones were Mythan's incredibly fucked up children; I'm pretty sure the twins went with Arant and the scary genius girl went with Kara.)

But now I don't know. Half the time in my head, Kara and Daevan do get together and get a happy ending; sometimes, they don't. Honestly, he doesn't deserve a happy ending. Don't get me wrong, I love him and he's my very favorite character ever, but he's a complete and total bastard, and he never really reforms. He sort of does. He tries sometimes. But... Never quite makes it. Kara deserves someone who's less, well, asshole-y, but she's in love with him. And if I can just get him over his scary obsession with his dead wife, he'd be very much in love with her too.

He still wouldn't reform, though. Stupid boy.

Part of me wants to see him try and take over the world, which he definitely would try, but I don't think that would work very well. Because either he'd have to succeed, which doesn't fit the time line at all, or he'd have to fail and die a horrible death, and I don't want that. Although it really makes more sense as his ending, regardless of his attempts to take over the world, which I doubt exist.

Most likely, he and Kara will get together, FINALLY, and then ten years later, Mythan will find out that Daevan has secretly been running the Bladedancers behind everyone's backs since he killed his father, gets incredibly pissed (not that I blame him) and demands that Daevan skulk off to nowhere for the rest of his life, and says that if anyone so much as utters the name Daevan Bladedancer (or Derrik Taleras, for that matter) ever again, he'll kill him. Daevan and whoever said it, probably. Kara is also incredibly pissed and never wants to see him again. They get a very very quick divorce and he disappears for years, finally out of both legitimate and underworld politics for good. Kara gets remarried to someone else, and has a son (either named Daevan or Derrik depending on how subtle she's feeling--possibly a daughter named Mercy. Or maybe she and Daevan have a daughter named Mercy. Man, Daevan would be a terrible father,) and then years later goes a bit nuts, locks herself in her room and refuses to come out unless Daevan is there. Fearing for Kara's sanity (and life), it's decided to let him come back for her sake. And thus they get back together (gotta wonder how her husband feels about that...) and grow old(er) and die together.

Mythan and Breena do have kids, I'm sure. Arant has to have a son at some point to continue the family line, which leaves the question of who he marries. Part of me wants him to get together with Kaiya, but no. Just.... No. So he probably marries a nice girl and has a happy family.

It amuses me how many characters have shown up and then disappeared since Temira's first appearance in my head in seventh grade. Examples: Arant's wife, Jesiveris. She was, um, a sorceress. I think. There were a few mercenaries and an evil King in the original story, which is now TOTALLY gone. One of the mercs is still hanging around, though, in the form of Daevan's sidekick, Gerish. Or Gerick. I can't decide on which, though I suspect is Gerish but he generally goes by Gerick because it sounds less Clan-ish. He's really not the same, vaguely reminiscent. There was originally a prophet from what used to be Mal'Kyn and is now Ysith, and another psycho sword carrying chick who was the Guardian, after Arant and Mythan both got married (in the original version, Mythan was also the Guardian, briefly. I don't remember why, really.) The two of them were sort of consolidated into Kaiya, who works much better than either one did alone.

Well, it helps that there's a plot for her to work in now, but still.

There was originally an Inn that was very important, and at least six people related to it in some way. It (and they) are all gone now; they do go to an Inn in Charyx (formerly Chain Three) sometimes, but it's a lot less important. And now it's an official Rich Royal Inn thing, and not a random dive where everyone ends up eventually.

...SHIT. There was originally, like, another page of this, and when I went to back it up so it couldn't accidentally delete while posting, I managed to delete it. And I'm interested in it, butnot going to write it out again. Grrrr.... Just as well, as everyone reading probably stopped caring about the point I said "comments appreciated." Ah, well. 'Night, everyone.

'Cause I know you're all concerned, I just thought I'd mention that the next chapter of the Saga is going surprisingly well. Actual, y'know, events occur, as it's not just filler. Finally.

It's going to be pretty longish, too; I'm on page 10 and have one scene left, which I'd guess will run 2 or 3 pages, at least. (I'll consider this slack from the last chapter, the shortest of season 2, at a mere 8 pages.)

Notes doodles from the first third of the semester. Not many, because I've been trying to take better notes--just look at history, where I have 40+ pages. Seriously.

Felix from the lads, with different (easier to draw) hair. Done in pen, and thus crappy, because there is no eraser.

Arant and Daevan. Arant turned out pretty well; Daevan... Not so much. These were the start of an experiment working on posture and, I guess, body shape/movement. Clearly, I don't know what I'm talking about.

The experiment continued with Dean, sort of; this isn't really him or anything, it was just convenient to pretend it was. It was supposed to be dean.jpg, not dead.jpg, but apparently I had a bit of a freudian slip. 'Cause, y'know, Dean kills people and stuff.

It also continued with two more shots that I really like, pipe body one and two. I'm not sure why, but I feel they turned out really well.

There was also this, a face shot of Daevan, and unrelated to the rest. Sadly, it's the best picture I've done of him so far (sigh).

His name was Luthor. The confusion is because he was vaguely based on my friend Casey from high school, who everyone called Dean, and so I thought I had just used that name. Turns out I didn't.

So yes, Colin and Carolina will be featured more heavily than I had expected, but the main character is Dean. Here's what I know about Dean so far:

*I suspect his last name is something like Rosengoldenstien, or something along those lines. (It amuses me. I go to Brandeis. Shut up.)
*Dean is a bit of a geekboy, but mostly he just sits in the hallway and plays guitar all day. He very rarely actually goes to class, but does well anyway, as the school is too easy for him. (This is how he knows Colin and Carolina, who *also* never go to class. In fact, I've noticed that none of my characters in high school go to classes. In fact, I am currently not in class, though Hebrew is, in fact, meeting right now. Odd.)
*Dean is a pretty nice, normal guy. (I'm afraid he and Colin are going to come across as too similar, since that's *also* Colin's description.) He's the sort of guy who just gets along with everybody, and everyone pretty much likes. (Even Miss Psychopants herself, Carolina. I need to SERIOUSLY rework her character. Though I think I'll keep in the throwing chairs at people part.) He's just sort of there, and nice. No one thinks about him too much.
*He's being forced into the family business, more or less against his will.
*The family business is offfing people for the mafia.
*He is, in fact, a fairly good asssassin. (Like Quin from last year's novel! But without the angst, drugs, genetic manipulaation, and, y'know, fucking up the future.)
*No one believes him when he tries to explain this.
*He has a crush on a girl named Corrine. (Hmmm... Corriene, Carolina and Colin. Maybe I should rename her.)

Bwa. It amuses me, anway.

By the way, the offer to send my NanoNovel from last year to anyone who wants to read it still stands.

So I'm signed up for NaNoWriMo and inspiration struck last night (with help from my roommate.) Which is cool. Except by last night I mean around four AM, and I have a giant ass test in 20 minutes which I'm going to fail because I know nothing, which is not aided by having had no sleep. Fun times ahead.

My main character is a kid named Dean, and Colin and (a hopefully less awful version of) Carolina from my novel last year are definitely goingn to be present in the story. (Possibly Richard, just for Leah... But I doubt it, because they broke up. Carolina and Richard, I mean, not Leah and Richard, because he's a fictional character and she has a boyfriend.) Except there was a Dean in the story last year, as a minor character... Possibly I named him something else but I *think* it was Dean. But not him, because he was a jerk.

More later, must get dressed/last minute read through my notes.
