I haven't drawn much at all this semester. Like, twice. But I did do this for Lyn, because I really like Karma Slave, and have enigmatic 80s lead singers on the brain. Well, really it's morethat I have Def Leppard on the brain. A lot. Man, they rule.

Oh, and I still hate doing black on black, but this time I did it as grey and pretended. Clearly.

I've been thinking about Daevan and Temira a lot lately... The 17 page chapter one I did at the beginning of the semester is, I think, with the exception of one scene, probably the most professional-like writing I've done. I'm very please with this and would like to continue, except I have no idea how. Even though I know, sort of, what's going on. Grrrr. (A lot of this has been inspired by reading the articles and tutorials and such at hollylisle.com; it's made me feel like someday, I could maybe actually do this. Not someday soon, really, but eventually. It's an optimistic thing.) So I've been jotting down general information about the story all day, which included drawing a very rough map.

Hey, *I* know what all that shit means. The map has evolved a lot since the very early version in 7th grade, which I still have floating around somewhere... No longer the Land of Seven at all. (Why have I always been obsessed with using the number seven? I don't know.) Countries that are greyed out are ones I have no idea what they are at all--they didn't used to exist. (Maybe if I get bored I'll scan one of the old maps and contrast them. But in short--a country is gone from the northeast; Gaba and Ahdab used to touch; Ledian didn't used to be that big; the Temmises used to be one country and had a different name; Castas used to be much bigger; Ysith didn't used to exist; Nems had a different name and was larger, and there were no countries between Nems, Castas and the Temmises.) But this gives me new stuff to play with.

The countries I know the most about are Ahdab, Gaba, and Ledian, which used to be Ledien, which is now the name of the capitol city. Because pretty much all of my characters are from there... Um, in fact, all of them are now... Islan (for whom Islana is named) used to live in Nems. There used to be some villains from Castas. Kaiya was transplanted from Ysith at a very young age. Arant's original wife, long dead to me, used to be from Temmis.

Oh, and the giant canyon at the norther border of Gaba and Ledian, as well as the mountain chain that runs through the Temmises, are the fault of Jervery and the Rift again. Darn him, he messed up everything badly... But I love him anyway. And season three of the Saga, if there is one, will be about him.

One last random note--I think it's odd that overall, the two Temira novels I have planned are actually about Daevan's redemption, but the first one's plot actually centers around Arant, and the second one around Kara. Hmmm.

Season Two of the Saga is 192 pages... and only about 2/3 done... Who'd have thought I'd have the attention span for this? *passes out*

Point of View change from the end of the last episode--I was originally going to use this to open ep 19, but figured out something much cooler to do.

"...I'll have someone see to your things as soon as you bring them across, Jereh," Cleran said as he opened the door. "Arot, can I trust you to track down Tiernan for me?"
"Why Tiernan?" Arot demanded.
"He's talented and open-minded, far so than most of the others."
"But his father and his uncle..."
"He's a Warrior, his first duty is to Ocando, not to them, at least as long as he's only the Heir," Cleran said.
"They won't like it," Arot said. "But I'll send him to your room."
"Thanks. Have a good afternoon," Cleran acknowledged, and let Arot step out of the room. Grateful to finally be out of Cleran's presence, and still not at all used to the fact that Cleran was the Sun's True Son, he hurried out of the library, not looking up to see Lisandra.
Jereh and the slave stepped out next. "I'll make my report," she told him. "And bring whatever news came from the morning's negotiations. But I want to bring him with me," she said, placing a hand on the slave's shoulder.
"Why?" Cleran asked.
"To show him how the Tunnels work... I suspect he could be very good with them. It takes a certain talent, a bond with Kaleal, that really only the most powerful Knights or Priests have... But it shows up sometimes in a Healer, the more powerful, the more likely it is to be there. And he is amazingly powerful, Cleran."
"I figured that much out for myself, thanks," Cleran said. "But Jereh... I'm still a Warrior. Training him is one thing, but taking him to Kalatsu? Strengthening his bond with Kaleal? I'm not sure—"
"Cleran, if you are objecting that he's a slave, I am going to—"
"Like it or not, he is a slave, and you can't touch me and you know it," Cleran snapped. Dealing with Jereh politely all day had made him a bit sick of her.
"The hell I can't," she snarled. "Just watch me—"
"Please, Miss," the Healer interrupted. "It's all right. I need to go clean off, I still stink of the dungeon..."
"You don't want to see your homeland?" Jereh asked.
"I do, very much. But... I don't want to cause trouble between yourself and Lord Cleran, really, and I'm sure that after the negotiations... After it's all over... I'll be able to go with you."
"You don't have to be frightened of him—"
"Oh, I'm not, I promise." His eyes twinkled a little bit. "I've saved his life twice now and kept his secrets, too. Lord Cleran would never hurt me. I trust him."
Jereh looked over at Cleran, who nodded. "He's a good kid, Jereh. I'll keep an eye on him. And—damn it, I have to go make sure Ocan hasn't hurt his Shadow, if he's awake," he remembered. "I'll have Arot and Tiernan waiting when you get back."
"Very well," she said, and left; the Healer slave following soon after.
Desperately needing sleep and a meal, but sure it would be awhile until he had either, Cleran turned towards the door. He saw Lisandra, and waved, then followed her concerned gaze…
And for just a moment, time stopped and he stared at the figure of the first woman he'd loved.

Hmmm. Well, I'm at the point in the Saga where the cast is about to expand about another fifteen people... Not major characters, but there are a lot of them, because of a total scenery change. And on top of that, I'm beginning the slow process of reintroducing surviving season one characters, starting with Lisandra (Kieris' sister.) She grew up to be ridiculously cool, too. And a librarian. Which again is a lot of ML infuence (grrr...) but mostly is because I work in the library and have become obsessed with writing about libraries. At least two other characters will be reintroduced in another few chapters, and more will be discussed.

But I have so many new people... *_*;; Lessee... Tiernan Sanasset, who's just sort of this nice guy; Klea, who doesn't even know her name yet; the Healer, who really needs a name; miscellaneous Warrior guy who also needs a name; Ocan comes back and is important; and Kerev and Shoris, Serissa's two sons. (They won't show up for awhile yet.)

So many people... But hopefully they won't be as 2D as I'm worried about them being; I'd like them to be distinct. I may get rid of Random Warrior Guy because he's too similar to Ocan, who, despite being a bloodthirsty bastard, I kinda like as a character. I mean, he's definitely an antagonistic character, but he's a lot of fun because he's one of the only ones who I can write for whose, you know, mean. Well, Arot too, to a certain extent, but he's a lot less violent about it.

Meanwhile, Kalin and Erra both need to be hit over the head with something heavy. Stupid boys.

But at least I'm enjoying writing again; the Saga is coming back to life before my very eyes... Mwahahahahahahahahahahahaha......

You know what will never cease to make me annoyed at myself...? Unless, I mean, by some miracle I stop doing it.

When I finish a book, I kind of automatically shift my writing style towards whatever I just read. Especially if it's a Mercedes Lackey book (which it was in this case), because it's not like my whole writing style isn't, you know, blatantly stolen. Not that I mean it to be, it's just... You know... Over exposure to Valdemar at too young of an age. It's not really healthy.

Grrr. I'm just kind of irked at myself; the writing I did at 5 AM this morning when I finished Exile's Honor (which I highly, highly reccomend) is probably about four of the best paragraphs I've written of the Saga, which is sad, when you consider nothing happens in those four paragraphs. (And it's only four; it was 5 AM. What do you want from me?) I'm not annoyed because the writing was good (that would be really dumb.) I'm annoyed because, conscious or not, it was me trying to echo someone else's style. I don't want to echo someone else's style. I want to develop my own style. Which at this moment consists mainly of whining. Waaaaaaaaaaah.

I'd like to get some major work done on the Saga this weekend, but don't know if I'll be able to. I have finals monday and tuesday and, well, need to devote time to them. Ah well. stupid school.
