Writing....I do a lot of it. I used to have a page devoted to random prose/unfinished projects/whatnot; it was called Blue and full of, well, crap. When I decided to close it down due to severe inactivity (it wasn't updated for a year and a half), and made this my main writing/art center, I weeded out the crap (well, the worst crap, anyway) and transferred the rest here. I warn you, a lot of this is old. Especially the poetry. And I suck at poetry in general. But this is the best of what there was, stuff I liked enough to save. But it's dated, and if you decide to avoid the older stuff... Well, I don't blame you. It was mostly stuff written for school anyway.
poemsSoldiers in Sherwood - An English assignment, which involved writing three poems that included various poetry... Things. I wrote two for fun and the third (this one) to meet the requirements, but it turned out decently. And I'm obsessed with Robin Hood... (10th grade) Sonnet of the Bridge - More of the same English assignment; I wrote this one to see if I could write a sonnet. It's about the actual bridge behind my house, where I used to spend ridiculous amounts of time. And for the record, the third poem was written to fulfil the freeverse requirement, and was weeded out as drivil. (10th grade) That Crazy Shabba Do-Wop Music - An English assignment. "Write a poem." No other guidelines given. I'd just been to a swing concert, and this was the result. (11th grade) Open Letter - I do not write free verse well, which is one strike against it; I hate hate hate angst poetry, which is a second. But aside from the fact that it's angsty freeverse, it's not too bad. Written because I was deeply pissed off. Gyah. (12th grade)
proseAn Ending - Short, thoughtful piece. Not thought-invoking, just, y'know, what I was thinking at the time. My English teachers loved this, for some reason, even though by the time they saw it, it was ollllllld. (9th/10th grade summer) What The Future Holds - We had a final requirement for my gym class. I have no explanation for why, but she wanted it to be either a research project, or something creative and interesting, and didn't give us any sort of topic whatsoever. So I ended up writing this, which I think qualifies as the only short story I've ever, ever written. I still kind of like it, actually. (10th grade) Phone Call - Written as a warmup in my psycho writing class of eeeeeeeevil. Short and overdramatic, but not really bad, per se. (12th grade)
unfinishedSword of the High King, Part One - A spoiled, lazy elf and a magic sword. Fun ensues. (11th grade) Sword of the High King, Part Two - Said elf runs away and meets psycho girl. (11th grade) Sword of the High King, Part Three - Elf finds out how psycho the girl really is. When she sets things on fire. A lot. (11th/12th grade summer)
