Me
Oh, man. I suck at these about type pages. Let's see, here...
My name is Becky. Most people online, and quite a few of my offline friends, call me B. The pen name I use in the fandom is Studentnumber24601, and around other online circles I'm queenitsy (hence the domain name). My birthday is July 15; I'm twenty-six. I graduated from a liberal arts university outside of Boston, then worked retail for a year. I moved to New York City and live with my sister; I worked as assistant editor for a business magazine for awhile, and now do web production for a health publisher.
I first saw Newsies when it was in the theater and I was in elementary school. I used to pretend I was a newsgirl with my best friend. My mom taped it off the Disney Channel for me (she thought it was good because it had historical value, so clearly Mom doesn't know too much about the actual strike) and I watched it almost every day for about a year, before growing out of it. I grew back into it sophomore year of college, when my older sister got me the DVD as a gag gift. I found slashy joy in it, joined the fandom, and proceeded to write like a crazy person.
My favorite character is Blink, and my OTP is Blink/Mush. I also adore David, and Racetrack closes the trio of favorites. I'm a member of the Newsies Justice League, the Newsies Mailing List, a moderator at the Refuge, a Late Night Lohrist, and an overachiever. Ha.
What else...
I love to write, both fanfic and original, and have been writing seriously (meaning on an almost every day basis) since seventh grade. Most of my non-fanfic writing is fantasy and scifi. My favorite authors are Connie Willis and Douglas Adams, which I mention because I believe the best way to learn to write is to read great writing. Also, to just write a lot.
My absolute favorite band is The Beatles, and I know more about them than any human should. However, the smart folk music of Moxy Fruvous influenced my views on politics quite a bit. Sloan is another band I couldn't live without; Between the Bridges is my favorite album of all time. Blur isn't bad, either.
I love New York, I own a cat, I root for the Yankees.
I think that's all I got. If you want more that badly, check out my ElJay.
