"God bless FDR," David mused, as he walked into the crowded meeting room. This was a coal miner's union; they wanted to strike for better conditions, and David couldn't blame them. Mining was a dangerous business.

But with the Depression on, it was better than nothing.

But then again, with the New Deal on too, labor was finally speaking out for their rights.

The leader of the union, had dirty skin, blond hair, and an eye patch. David gaped for a second. The man offered him a hand. "Louis Ballatt."

"David Jacobs. I think we used to know each other."
