A slave in the household of Elthis Aleann, Kalin was capture on a slave raid as a child, and vowed he would one day escape and regain his freedom. He has strong morals which he uses as a guide, and is stubborn often to the point of being stupid.

Serissa Aleann (introduced in episode one)
Daughter of an influential Lord, Serissa was raised to privilege; however, she discovered after her mother's death she also lacked the skills necessary to run her father's household. What Serissa truly wants is to be independent, but she has very little control over her own life.

Taylin Sanasset (introduced in episode one)
Taylin is one of the most influential men on Arpiar, and holds offices both as a highly ranked Warrior and as one of four High Lords. However, he's troubled by memories of his youth, when he was taken as a prisoner in battle and held on Kalatsu for two years. He has no memory of his time there, beyond nightmares, nor any memory of how he escaped.

Erra Kelanister (introduced in episode eight)
Formerly a Prince of Kalatsu, Erra traded in his hereditary title to become a Knight. He and his father fight frequently over his choice to leave the royal family; however, even his father was forced to accept Erra's choice when he began receiving visions from the Goddess, sending him out on a quest to Arpiar.

Kieris Alayrin (introduced in episode nine) Heir to one of Arpiar's High Lords, Kieris is very much a politician, not an army man, to his father's great disappointment. Calm and rational, Kieris prefers studying and reading to fighting; and even his father grudgingly admits that he'll someday make a very good High Lord.
