In some other universe, where I have a goatee and chuckle evilly to myself a lot, this story makes perfect sense:
Johnny Rotten wants Justin Timberlake to play him in his upcoming bio-flick.
Doesn't that blow your mind?

First, the Boondocks does the Best. Strip. Evah!!
Then I find an interview with Aaron McGruder. The man did his senior thesis on himself. He's smart and political and his heroes (early Gary Trudeau and Berke Breathed) are mine. Go! Read! Join the Boondocks Nation!

Okay, it's a bit dorky and sentimental, but I really enjoyed this article at yankees.com, which really should have been titled, "We're Pissed At Jeter... But Love Him Anyway." Because that seems to be the moral of the story. Reportedly, the rest of the team is encouragingly him, Mattingly is standing behind him, and Torre...
Well...
Asked whether he'd yet contemplated benching his shortstop, Yankees manager Joe Torre said, "If you were going to sit somebody down who wasn't hitting well, we wouldn't have enough guys to field a team."
I think that's probably as close to affection as Joe Torre gets. Also, the article describes Jorge Posada as, "about the only Yankee who has been doing his offensive share," which makes me laugh.
Oh, Derek. Come back to us soon. We love how smug you are, and this whole sad face thing just isn't working out.
In other news, sorry for the absense, but I'm currently steeped in tech week, papers, and final exam preparation. So I'll be back... at some point.
Speaking of which, I'm pretty sure that anyone reading this is coming anyway, but... Boris' Kitchen! Friday and Saturday, 9 PM, Shaprio theater. It is teh funny.

Hey, Yankees? There was a time when I'd watch an April game against the A's and not sit here clutching my desk and praying that Mo could just keep the other team from starting some kind of insane 9th inning rally, because OHMYGOD we could use a win, and has Jeter hit anything yet, and we just need to NOT LET THEM SCORE THREE RUNS THIS INNING, like, is that so hard? And no, it shouldn't be, but lately a certain team that will remain anonymous hasn't been able to catch a damn ball, let alone play defense, so news of an A-rod-to-second-to-first double play makes me cheer and wake up my housemates, and then email my sister and let her know the INCREDIBLE news that we'd actually won.
Which is my run-on way of saying, that as much as I love and support you all, what the fuck is going on this season?
Joe Torre's going to have you all killed soon. Just a heads up.
