Oh god, there are only 10 weeks left?

MoveOn PAC is having a bunch of cool people do a bunch of new ads, to support their "10 Weeks: Don't Get Mad, Get Even!" campaign. Including (but not limited to):
-- The Mistake, directed by Rob Reiner, featuring the voice of Rob Reiner

-- Cheney is Not on Our Side, written and directed by & starring Woody Harrelson

-- The Disappeared, directed by Doug Limon, voice over by Matt Damon

-- Love is Love, written by and starring Margaret Cho,

-- The Pie, written by Al Franken, starring Illeana Douglas & Ione Skye

-- Jimmy the Cab Driver: Tax Break?, starring Donal Logue as Jimmy the Cab Driver

I had no idea Ione Skye was around, let alone doing political ads with Al Franken. Nor was I aware Woody Harrelson was allowed to do ads that weren't about the legalization of hemp. (Wait, maybe it is. Cheney's definitely not on that side, is he?)

I only realized, just this second reading this, that Donal Logue was Jimmy the Cab Driver. Holy crap I'm dumb.

On the other hand...

GQ has gone out of its way to mock Brit Brit, so that's nice.
An open letter to Britney Spears:

"...What happened Britney? Once, you were the pubescent light of our lives, the lip-synching fire of our loins. Talentwise, we never confused you with Maria Callas, or even Maria Conchita Alonso, but you were sexy, precocious, and ambitious: Madonna meets JonBenet. You made a couple of good songs - we really like "I'm a Slave 4 U," we didn't care what anyone said - and you were America's ranking pop princess. Britney versus Christina? Britney versus Christina was like Reagan versus Mondale. "

Highly recommended reading.

Sometimes it's hard to love

I forgot; it's not just a kilt. It's a kilt-and-accordian combo piece.

Why does he want to make it hard for me to love him? Why??

The Prince and Princess of Pop

Justin's on the cover of GQ. I guess I could pretend to be happy about it, but it makes no sense, for a bunch of reasons. First, he doesn't have a project coming out for a while (Edison isn't due out until next year), so why? Second, he doesn't look good. Why photograph JRT and not make him look hot? Third, he's wearing a kilt.

A kilt.

Brit, meanwhile, is rumored to be in talks with MTV for her own version of "Newlyweds," to star her and new-husband-to-be Cletus. She is also rumored to have, in the last couple of days, answered the question "What's the last thing you had in your mouth?" with "A dildo."

While I'm trying to bleach that image out of my brain, feel free to go and enjoy the animated short "The Mystery of Britney Spears' Breasts," which makes a good case for her breasts being the 8th wonder of the world.

A Real American Tragedy

Apparently George Clooney plans to get fat, shave his head, and stop having sex. It's all for his next film role, as a chubby CIA man.

Dedication to your craft is fine, but you're George Clooney, not Christian Bale; no matter what you do, physically, your "acting" "style" still consists of being hot and smirking. If you eliminate the "being hot" part of that equasion, all you have left is smirking, and that hardly ever works. What, do you want to end up like Val Kilmer?

So there.

(It's my (our) pop!blog, and I'll do what I want.)

In other news, this picture cracks me up. I have come up with a list of 86 reasons why this is the most hilarious picture ever. Can you guess what they are?

Holy crap!

There's a trailer for Ocean's 12!

Well... a teaser trailer for Ocean's 12. It's got the same swank music, which is encouraging. It insists on telling me that "12 is the new 11," though, and I'm not totally sure what that means. (Maybe someone needs math lessons?)

P.S. -- Hey, did you know Hagrid is in this flick? 'Cause he totally is. Although his character's name seems to be 'Matsui,' and that's gonna put Becky in a whole weird headspace.
